Rob Reilly is a registered Acupuncturist with AHPRA (Australia’s Health
Practitioners Regulatory Agency) and is a full member of AACMA, Australia’s

completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) which entailed an

The underlying model of Acupuncture therapy allows the practitioner to look at
key patterns that may present as pressure pain in the belly, irregular pulse
patterns, changes in tongue colour and coating, and pressure pain in areas
throughout extremities. These patterns will generally coexist with the current
issue and symptoms the patient is experiencing.
My approach to the Acupuncture treatment involves further palpation of the
body, checking specific points and areas for pressure pain, flaccidity and or
changes in temperature and skin texture to confirm the diagnosis. I will then draw
on a number of techniques, the use of fine needles, the burning of moxa (heat therapy) and or
cupping and massage to bring balance.
The benefit and positive outcomes from Acupuncture have generally been
shown to be because of vasodilative changes in blood flow due to biochemical
changes within the blood, such as the release of endorphins and immune cells,
which down regulates inflammation and brings calm to the musculature and
nervous system. This makes Acupuncture a clinically viable treatment option
that is both safe and drug free.
